My first completed miniatures of the new year - some sci-fi caravan guards for a desert scenario. Kitbashed from Victrix Napoleonics and Oathmark goblins and orcs.
Thanks very much! I'm sure I'm not the first to put goblin heads on Napoleonic bodies; there's lots of scope for this sort of kitbash with Oathmark, Wargames Atlantic and Wargames Factory goblins/orcs.
Thanks! Yes, to get them done quickly and to make them look like they belong in the environment of the bases and my sci-fi gaming mat, I painted the clothing and the bases in one (with a darker base coat for the clothes first). All that the clothing and equipment required beyond that was an occasional wash of sepia or dull green over bits and bobs here and there.
Cheers! They're the same as the base (amaranth red + dark sand) but with an earlier coat of flat brown. Very quick to do - so the only effort is with the faces and weapons.
These are really sweet! Might have to rip off the concept. :)

DeleteNice job! I love the subtle colors of the uniforms...
