  2. What That guy meant to say was:

"Hey, nice costumes! How long did those take to make and how did you make them?!"

  3. Thanks!

They took a few days/evenings (the kids helped quite a bit). They're mainly made from brown gummed tape; it's like instant papier mache. I started by making 'helmets' around shop-bought blank papier-mache masks, using card and tape, and then just added other elements (chiefly shaped by using layers of tape over balloons).

The hydra heads were built out of foam board and then covered with tape. The tongues and teeth were made from tin foil over wire, covered with brown tape. A hot-glue gun was liberally employed to join things together!

    1. Very creative! I hope they had a successful sweetie-gathering as a result.

Do you live somewhere near Trinity, Edinburgh? At first glance I thought that was Summerside Street off Ferry Road, but it just looks similar.

  4. Cheers! They did reap a fair old guising harvest (much to the dentist's dismay, no doubt).

No - the other side of town (the South Side). This was on their way to school.

    1. Oh yes, I recognise it now! Really nice part of the city!

I myself am tucked away behind Seafield Cementary, just off Leith Links. A bit of a distance from you, but I have been known to take my kids to the Commonwealth Pool on occasion (they're a similar age to yours I suspect).
